Ferrous Processing & Trading Co. Stormwater Master Planning & Engineering Services
Project Overview
NTH was retained by Ferrous Processing & Trading Co. (FPT), a Division of Soave Enterprises to provide on-going master planning services and professional engineering support for storm water quality and quantity improvements at multiple scrap metal/ auto salvage facilities in the Midwest United States.
NTH provided assistance as a trusted advisor to FPT to cover a broad range of strategic, technical, and construction services at FPT Cleveland, LLC and FPT Pontiac, LLC.
Project Scope
One of NTH’s major roles is to provide trusted advice in stormwater management. For FPT Cleveland, NTH designed three storm water detention ponds with associated sewerage and oil/water separators to treat stormwater runoff from the site. Additionally NTH provided civil engineering services for a major repair of the combined sewer overflow that was utilized as part of the storm water management system. For FPT Pontiac, NTH modified the existing storm water detention ponds, consolidating existing ponds for additional process space, while lining the remaining ponds to enhance storm water quality discharging to local storm water systems.
In addition to acting as a consultant to FPT, NTH’s trusted advisor role includes activities to help increase FPT’s operational efficiency and profitability.
Client Benefit
NTH assists FPT in evaluating processes and suggests improvements. NTH also helps maintain progress on FPT construction projects by coordinating and communicating with other consultants, surveyors, construction contractors, regulatory agencies and permitting entities.
